"Our first client was a Fortune 100 global defense entity which asked me to form my company and help develop and grow their new space acquisition," recalls Regina Cates, President and Founder of the firm. "I was heading the U.S. office of an international satellite technology company, and it was relatively soon after 9-11, when business in general was still reeling from the devastating effects that event had caused. My response was 'thank you, but not right now.'
"Soon I realized this was a rare opportunity to make a significant difference in our country, and I've never looked back. Interestingly, I was filing my incorporation papers within days of what would become Northern Command."
People ask Cates about the diversity of her business. She answers, "I had the chance to attend Georgia Tech as one of the first female students. And I was proficent in creative areas. I guess I'm a rarity, and that has allowed me the opportunity to understand and bridge a diverse range of needs."
